Feature: Terra Plana shoes. I know looking for environmentally conscious, comfortable and stylish shoes can basically be the most daunting task when it comes to function and style. Fortunately, Terra Plana, a shoe design company out of the UK, provides all these needs and they do it well. Mostly leather shoes with rubber soles, these unique designs provide comfort without compromising your aesthetic.

Home decor feature: Amenity. I've been craving this company's duvets for years after viewing their line at Wildflower in Austin. Only recently did I remember how refreshingly simple and delicate these prints are on a bed. Plus, all the fabric of 320 thread count is organically grown cotton.

Featured item: K Studio pillows. Adorable, natural, ironic and tenderly painted fabric pillows. "The artists: K Studio is Mary and Shelly Klein, a mother-daughter company committed to sustainable manufacturing practices. In addition to creating lovely pillows and other products, Shelly (the daughter) is also a painter. The designs and characters which adorn K Studio pieces are drawn from Shelly's paintings. Each piece is handmade in their Grand Rapids, MI, studio."

BRINGING UP BABY

NY FASHION FEATURE: Karen Walker. Designer Karen Walker, from New Zealand, featured her work at New York Fashion week for Fall 2007. Her designs, a mix-match of 1930's styles echoes Katherine Hepburn to me. The pastiche of military elements juxtaposed with elaborate patterns makes her designs reflect a palette and layering that project the tensions between traditional masculine cuts and feminine refashionings in the modern age.

Featured item by Dead. This post is for JDL. Keffiyeh pattern "peace scarves" hoods, hand-printed by Nonni Dead and are hand-sewn in Iceland.

Each one of them is unique and 200 Euros.
