DELAY
Hi everyone. I just moved into my new apartment in Philadelphia. Sorry for the lack of updates lately, I will be back soon with new features. Thanks for your patience.

WILLIAMS FOR BOY
Feature: Boy by Band of Outsiders. A few months ago, I featured Boy by Band of Outsiders, which I liked for its classic take on androgyny. I recently stumbled on these images, modeled by Michelle Williams, who I love. I'm going to celebrate polaroid photography until it's not available anymore in the near future.
Nozomi Ishiguro
Feature: Nozomi Ishiguro. Japanese designer, Nozomi Ishiguro, is a combination of Rick Owens, Yohji Yamamoto and Comme des Garçons. The zipper pants and excessively layered clothing are both eclectic and funky without being tacky. The overwhelming knits on top of unconventional bottoms -- are those pants or a skirt? -- make this collection as creative than it is original. Ishiguro has a way of incorporating Fall trends, yet making them the brand's own. You should judge for yourself (especially if you pay attention to parts of the whole.)

EMANUEL UNGARO
Feature: Emanuel Ungaro. Back from a short hiatus, I bring you some of my favorite Fall collections this week. Since I've noticed certain collections receiving notoriety and others not so much, I'm going to try to focus on underrated collections this upcoming season. (We all know about YSL's severely futuristic androgyny and Prada's lace...) From fashion week in Paris, Emanuel Ungaro 's Esteban Cortazar chose to keep it soft and constructed. The necklines on his sweaters and the draping techniques give the looks an effortless yet artistic appeal.

ROLAND MOURET
Feature: Roland Mouret. Although Roland Mouret appeals to a more formal side of my aesthetics, I always appreciate the folds and cuts that accentuate female curves in his designs. While ironically, only non-curvy women seem to don his dresses, I can appreciate the intelligence that went into designing these innovative silhouettes for his Fall 2008 collection.

JUNYA WATANABE
Feature: Junya Watanabe. As bloggers enthusiastically cite their favorite fall fashion collections, I have not fully thought my inspirations through. Although there are the usual suspects like Isabel Marant and Phillip Lim, I want some avant-garde influences. And then the thought occurred to me: "Did I miss out on everyone freaking out about Junya Watanbe's Fall 2008?" I normally crop out the heads, but in this entry, I contemplated cropping out the body because I'm so mesmerized by the styling on top. When I regained my senses, however, I realized that the pieces themselves were unbelievably understated, interesting, and innovative. Oh Junya! Thank you for your contributions to fashion.
I just wanted to mention that I love what that woman on the left hand side is wearing (the blue is magnificent) and her pensive expression as she watches the runway.

FUTURE CLASSICS
Feature: Future Classics. Do you ever just come across a design label who just gets it? Future classics embodies everything I want with draping, fabrics, and styling. The minimalist distortions of body proportions still flatter with the sleeve details. This is what I want from "fashion."

ERYN BRINIÉ
Feature: Eryn Brinié. Korean fashion chain, Eryn Brinié, recently opened their first North American boutique in SoHo. With a refreshingly ethereal appeal, EB is an affordable option for feminine and simple flowly pieces. I especially love how they capitalize on trends without making them "trendy." (Located at 501 Broadway.)

ACNE RETURNS
Feature: Acne Fall accessories. I've concluded that I want one of each thing in the dark gray wool or perhaps, black leather. But really, if I'm going to be honest, I just love these images.
STONE AND HONEY
Feature: Stone and Honey. I don't wear much jewelry but I do have one classic handmade necklace by Portland designer: Small Things. It is the one recognizable piece of jewelry that I wear with pretty much everything -- so to my delight, Small Things launched a new jewelry line with delicate gold and silver pendants. I really love delicate chains and natural shapes of the honeycombs. (They're also affordable at $65 a piece!)
