Prabal Gurung A/W 2012 Recap

Blue is the operative color in Prabal Gurung's new collection.  It's on the patterns, prints, eyelids, and within the seams (last look.)  I love this collection because it mixes in sheer, shiny and fuller fabrics that accentuate the bold contrast between the colors, shapes, and incredibly detailed silhouettes.  While I don't love his first few looks, I think that I'm attached to his more established-shapes from previous collections.  I think that for some reason, I was attracted to these incredibly artful and statement dresses that scream something beyond ready-to-wear.  It's an ambitious visual and constructive effort that's both safe and imaginative at the same time.
